Hear from #TeamFalanx

“Hi, I’m Matthew Kildin and I work as a SOC Analyst. Prior to starting at Falanx, I studied Cyber Security at University and was able to spend my placement year working with Falanx as an intern. I am now in my 3rd year at Falanx and enjoying every element of the role.

My role as an Analyst, in summary, involves responding to detections, developing our alerting capabilities, and monitoring our SIEM tools through proactive hunting. Working at Falanx is a positively unique experience as I have been able to get involved with a broad range of tasks across cyber operations such as engineering, networking and more enabling me to expand my overall knowledge of the Cyber Security industry.

Falanx look after their teams very well and offer a very high-spirited family like working environment which overall helps individual development and the ability to work more closely and effectively together.

Personally, outside of work, I enjoy watching/playing football and golf.”

“Hi, I’m Nerissa & I’m the Head of SOC here at Falanx Cyber. I have been in IT for just over 15 years now with my career starting in the IT Support space back in 2007 as an IT Technical Analyst!

Recently, in November 2021, I won the Award for Outstanding Transformation at the Women in Tech Excellence Awards hosted by Computing in London. Since then, I have been able to use my voice to speak up more about diversity & inclusion in the workplace, be it for gender, race, religious beliefs, neurological conditions, disabilities and even sexual orientation. I am also honoured to mentor a diverse range of women in tech from varying cultures and social backgrounds to assist them in their career development.

I was drawn to joining Falanx Cyber as the IT Security industry is such a thrilling space to be in right now and interest in it is growing at an exponential rate. Joining Falanx Cyber was the best decision I could have made as there is so much to get immersed into and there is the freedom to shape and mould the processes & services as we see fit.

Outside of work I am a social being, I enjoy spending my time with my family & friends. I have also founded a Charity for the homeless which I am actively involved with in my spare time. Aside from that, I enjoy music, playing the piano & guitar, I am an outdoor runner and love curling up on the sofa to binge watch the latest Netflix shows!

Falanx has ambitious plans for growth, with a great ‘people first’ culture & benefits, so now is an exciting time to get involved!”

“Hi, I’m Lee Cates and I work within sales as a Business Development Executive. I work closely with our new and long-term clients to make sure they get the most out of our services and purchase the correct services to meet their requirements.

I love my role. I get to work at the coalface of the industry in terms of its needs and hear the challenges our clients are facing first-hand and, better yet, become part of the solution.

Falanx are a great team that wants and supports you to achieve as much as you can. In doing so we deliver a greater quality of work that benefits all involved. We do have challenges of course but there has not been one yet in my last 9 year’s that not been too difficult to overcome”

Mental health and wellbeing

Mental Health is something that affects us all. At Falanx we want to normalise prioritising our mental health and asking for help in the same way that we prioritise our physical wellbeing.

We are proud to support the mental health and wellbeing of our employees and we aim to create conditions for everyone in #TeamFalanx to thrive. Supporting our staff with access to various talking therapies, mental health first aiders, a dedicated wellbeing arm to our HR department and guided training on how to spot the signs of poor mental health in peers and colleagues. Changing the way we work for the better, reducing the stigma and raising awareness of mental wellbeing.

Mind is our company charity partner and we run fundraising events throughout the year including sponsored walks, baking challenges and seasonal competitions.

Falanx Cyber Thames Path Challenge

“Hi, I’m Meghan, I have been with Falanx since 2017 and I currently work in our HR & Wellbeing team. It’s my responsibility to make sure that our business strategy puts the welfare, health and wellbeing of our employees at the heart of our business operations, offering dedicated support from the point that an employee is onboarded into the business, and also along their career journey with Falanx.

I am proud to work with Falanx to support our employees in a variety of different ways, whether that be dedicated at-work mental health support, regular employee check-ins, launching employee feedback channels and reporting back into the business the ways that we can improve as a responsible and supportive employer. We understand that the ways in which businesses need to support employees is changing, and we’re committed to doing all that we can to create a healthy, positive and productive working environment.”
